Common Questions About Tattoos

We have a minimum charge of $60.00 dollars. When we do custom work we charge by the hour. When we give a quote for a tattoo it’s for one sitting. Additional sittings will incur additional charges. Choose your artist not based on price, but on his/her work.

The artist will provide you with verbal and written instructions on caring for your new tattoo. We will not provide a service without explaining: Procedure, Cost, & Healing. If you have questions, please ask. Your health and satisfaction are important to us.

Yes, but they must be at least 16 years old. They must bring a notarized consent form to the studio with both the minor and the parent or guardian’s signature, along with a valid state-approved photo ID. For example School ID, Driver’s License, or Birth Certificate.

We always accept walk-ins, but they are taken on a first-come first served basis. If you want a tattoo at a certain time & date or don’t want to have to wait, you might want to make an appointment to make sure you get in on that day. If you want something custom, a cash deposit is necessary for booking in the future.

We have thousands of designs or you can bring in your own. Feel free to stop by and check out the studio. You can always have the artist draw you something custom.

Yes, cleaning any kind of cut is good for you. Just follow the aftercare protocol and avoid pool water and salty beach water until at least 7 days after getting your tattoo.

If you have a brand new tattoo please avoid sun exposure. If you work outdoors, wear a white shirt to reflect the sun. Your tattoo needs to be out of the sun for 7 days.

After your tattoo has healed it will last a lot longer if you protect it. Try to use sunblock if you know you’re going to tan or be working or walking in the sun for a prolonged time.

The sun causes fading. Try to use sunblock if you know you’re going to tan or be working or walking in the sun for a while.

We use what is called an autoclave. The tubes, which are the part of the machine that is like a pen handle, are scrubbed and then autoclaved. We always use new needles for EVERY person. We also have a test for the autoclave called a spore test. It is tested regularly to make sure it is still doing a great job at killing bacteria, viruses, etc.

Yes, it hurts but, everyone handles it differently. Some people find getting a tattoo will help them out of depression for a while. The endorphins in the human body help you deal with pain.

The arms and legs tend to hurt the least. The places that hurt the most are the inner thigh or areas right over the bone like the ankle. The ribcage is usually chosen by those with more experience.

Bad Idea! Alcohol makes you bleed more and that means it will be harder to have ink spread evenly in the skin. People who are drunk can’t stay still while getting tattooed. If you want your tattoo to look good with straight lines you have to stay still. You need to be sober.

The best method is laser removal in which a laser vaporizes the ink particles in the skin. I would suggest you look into getting a cover-up from someone who can actually do a cover-up. Laser removal usually requires many sessions and the fees add up to usually 3-4 times what a cover-up would have cost.

Here at Eternal Art, we have experience tattooing dark skin. The most important thing is to understand that the darker you are, some colors just won’t show up. You really should stick to black and shades of grey.
